About the Iditarod

The Iditarod is a race over 1,150 miles. It goes across the most dangerous and beautiful terrain. The Iditarod started in 1973. It goes from Ancorage to Nome, Alaska. It is always the first week of March starting at 10 am. Each team is pulled by 12 to 16 dogs. There is a short race for the kids before the real race starts, so you can be any age to race.
